Welcome to the Young Persons Training Orchestra, the orchestral ensemble of Cardiff and Vale Music Service. The Orchestra play a wide range of music, from popular classics to film and show tunes and the emphasis is always on the students having fun and enjoying playing together. We always have numerous concerts planned and are looking into possibilities for residential courses and tours.
About Us
The Young Persons Training Orchestra (YPTO) was formed in 2000 to give young musicians the opportunity to play together in a friendly and fun environment.
The Orchestra has given concerts in the Coal Exchange and St Davids Hall and taken part in exchange programs in both Ireland and Chicago. Currently it gives termly concerts in the Gate Arts Centre, Wales Millennium Centre and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Rehearsals
Wednesday evening, 6.30-8.00pm, at YGG Plasmawr, Fairwater.
Rehearsals are run so as all the students get the opportunity to enjoy making music and perform together in a fun and relaxed way.
